Exeter 'Cash Mob' Saturday

A "cash mob" to benefit the Two Flights Down consignment store will be held in downtown Exeter Saturday.

The mob will meet at Exeter Town Hall at 11 a.m. and participants will go to the store and purchase a bunch of items to support it.

Mob participants are asked to pay cash at the store, which is owned by Shirley Pitts.

"The cash mob is a simple, effective and fun way to support a local business, such as Two Flights Down," mob organizers said. 

Pitts has supported many local events over the years, including the Festival of Trees, Making Strides for Breast Cancer, Exeter Area Rotary, Exeter Area Lions, the American Independence Festival, NHPTV, and numerous school groups.

Several downtown businesses are offering promotions to those who participate in the cash mob:

• La Cave à Vin is offering a 15 percent discount
• Pimentos is offering a 20 percent discount if you show your receipt from a Two Flights Down purchase
• Cornucopia Wine & Cheese Market is offering free gourmet chocolate samples with a purchase
• All Beads Considered is giving 30 percent off any item
• 11 Water Street is offering a free nonalcoholic beverage with the purchase of an appetizer or entree.
• Jai Anlyn is offering $5 off any purchase of $25 or more and $10 off any purchase of $40 or more
