Exeter Center for Creative Arts Donates $27K
The money will be used for a new YMCA center in town.

The Exeter Center for Creative Arts dissolved as a nonprofit and donated its remaining $26,522 for a new YMCA center in Exeter.
For the last two years, the ECCA has partnered on a "Y-Arts" program with the Southern District YMCA, which is building the new YMCA facility on Linden Street.
"We have been so pleased that the Y-Arts curriculum provides high quality arts education for our community,” said Emma Dentinger, president of ECCA's board of directors, in a statement. "That was always ECCA's goal. Looking forward, we are energized by putting the support of ECCA into the Southern District YMCA campaign to build a facility in which to continue art education classes.”

Southern District YMCA officials said they will continue ECCA's legacy.
“Our collaborative effort has truly kept alive the strong roots of arts programming in Exeter,” said Kimberly Meyer, director of community operations for the YMCA. “A community YMCA will ensure that ECCA’s mission in arts education will live on in the Y’s own commitment to strong mind, body and spirit. We look forward to launching Y-Arts within a new YMCA facility where all ages will have access to the power of visual and performing arts.”
