Exeter Chamber Hosts Downtown Development Meeting June 3

Economic forum with Town Manager Russ Dean focuses on Newmarket Mills as case study; vision for the future.

The Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a forum on Wednesday, June 3, at the Newmarket Mills Space Conference Room, according to a press statement.

Registration begins a 7:30 a.m. and the program will run from 8 to 10 a.m. 

This forum will be moderated by Russ Dean, Exeter town manager and will feature local experts in the area of economic development.

The Newmarket venue was chosen for this forum because of the recent successful development that has taken place there. Forum attendees will learn and be able to interact with the panel of local experts to discuss the tools, trends and results using Newmarket as a case study. Additional topics of discussion will include Tax Incremental Financing (TIF), NHRSA’s and the 79E funding mechanisms that are available for development in any NH communities.

The population of the NH Seacoast continues to grow. Municipalities are finding themselves in competition to attract and retain businesses, residents, shoppers and employees. To remain competitive, successful towns have taken a pro-active approach to economic development while at the same time, much is changing in the areas of economic development incentives, regulations and available.
