Dr. David Davis, of Access Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics, has won the Aircast Award for Basic Science at the 2012 American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) Annual Meeting.
Dr. Davis’ abstract was chosen out of 450 submissions in a highly competitive selection process as the best basic science paper for 2012. Dr. Davis will be presenting his abstract, Simple Guidelines for Anatomic Femoral Tunnel Placement in ACL Reconstruction of the Knee, at the Annual Meeting July 12-15 in Baltimore, MD. Written in collaboration with Dr. Mark Steiner, the paper came at the conclusion of significant research on ACL reconstruction during his fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

The AOSSM is recognized as a world leader in sports medicine education, research, communication and fellowship. The organization has a membership of almost 3,000 of the country’s top physicians and allied health professionals. While many members treat high profile athletes on professional teams, most devote their practices to helping out their community and treating local high school or collegiate athletes.
Dr. Davis is an orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained in sports medicine and arthroscopy. He specializes in the treatment of knee, shoulder and hip injuries.
