Using a similar technique of the books illustrator, JoAnn Kitchel, the group used oil pastels and painted while listening to "The Farewell Symphony" by Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn.

The children’s compositions show an interesting correlation between the book, the music, and their own interests. Come and view the exhibit, read the book, possibly listen to a few strains of the Symphony (#45 in F-sharp minor) and imagine what you might paint.
