Exeter High War Hero Memorialized

The name of Nicholas Bernier, a 2007 Exeter High graduate killed in Afghanistan earlier this year, was recently inscribed on a war monument in Hampton.

On Sunday, veterans Bernier and seven other New Hampshire soldiers whose names were inscribed on the Global War on Terror Monument at American Legion Post 35 in Hampton.

Bernier was a combat medic.

“My grandson was a helper," said his grandmother, Billie Jean, on Sunday. "(That's why) he wanted to go into the medical field."

On Sunday, motorcyclist held a for Bernier that ended at Exeter High School.
