After months of planning, Exeter Hospital and Core Physicians held a ceremonial groundbreaking last week for the Epping Regional Health Center, marking the start of the construction phase for the new facility.
The March 27 event was attended by residents, neighbors, Planning Board members, selectmen, fire department staff, police department members and community constituents.
The new, 25,650-square-foot facility will be located at 212 Calef Highway (Route 125) in Epping, about 250 yards north of the Route 27 interchange. It is scheduled to open in the winter of 2013 and will include family medicine, pediatrics, physical and occupational therapy for adults, physical, occupational and speech therapy for children, imaging, a lab, and mobile digital mammography.
The project architect is Lavallee Brensinger of Manchester; civil engineers are Jones & Beach Engineers of Stratham; the landscape architect is Ironwood Design Group, LLC of Exeter; and the construction manager is Hutter Construction of Concord.
