Exeter Hospital Hosts Fourth Annual Trick or Treat Trot 5K Run/Walk
Early bird registration rates available through the end of September for the Oct. 30 the Beyond the Rainbow Fund at Exeter Hospital event.

EXETER, NH – Dress in your favorite costume and join Exeter Hospital at its fourth annual Halloween Trick or Treat Trot 5K Run/Walk and Creepy Crawler Fun Run on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016. Proceeds from the family-friendly event will benefit The Beyond the Rainbow Fund at Exeter Hospital, dedicated to improving the lives of Exeter Hospital cancer patients in need.
New to this year’s event are team registrations, allowing friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to form teams. While fundraising is not required, individuals are encouraged to fundraise themselves or as a team for The Beyond the Rainbow Fund. Prizes will be awarded to the top three individual fundraisers.
The Trick or Treat Trot will start at 9 a.m. from the Exeter Hospital Campus and will follow a course suited to individuals of all ages and abilities. The non-competitive Creepy Crawler Fun Run for children 10 and under begins at 10:30 a.m., preceded by a warm-up at 10:15 a.m. led by Taylor Chace, BS, CSCS, performance specialist from the Athletic Performance Center of Exeter Hospital. Both races start and finish on the Exeter Hospital campus.

Participants are encouraged to register by September 30 to take advantage of early-bird registration rates. “Trot 5K” participants registered by September 30 will also receive a free race t-shirt. The cost for the Run/Walk for ages 19 and over is $25 through 9/30/16, $30 through 10/28/16, and $35 on event day. Student rates for ages 18 and under for the Run/Walk is $20 through 10/28/16 and $25 on event day. The cost for the Fun Run is $5 through 9/30/16, $8 through 10/28/16 and $10 on event day. Online registration is available through October 26th at active.com, or entrants can visit unitedinwellness.org/trickortreattrot to download a registration form or learn about early bib pick-up and event-day registration.
Fun Run participants will receive Halloween bags and all attendees are invited to enjoy post-race complimentary snacks, face painting and the opportunity to meet physicians from Core Physicians and Exeter Hospital. Awards donated by local businesses will be given to both male and female Trot division winners, best costume winners in both races, and the top three individual fundraisers.

All proceeds from the event benefit The Beyond the Rainbow Fund at Exeter Hospital, a fund providing financial assistance and support to patients in need at Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care.
“As volunteer ‘Trot’ chairperson, I have enjoyed seeing the event grow year after year,” said John Burcke, vice president, commercial loan officer at Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank. “This event is not only a fun way to celebrate Halloween, but a great way for the community to come together and raise money to help support our neighbors who are facing a cancer diagnosis.”
Eastern Bank and Hannaford are Platinum-level sponsors for this year’s event. The Trot is the eighth race in Exeter Hospital’s ten-race United in Wellness Road Race Series, sponsored by Seacoast United Sports Club. The series supports organizations whose missions positively impact the health and wellness of the Seacoast community.
