Exeter Loses Gerry's Variety Store Owner

Roland Goupil, the longtime owner of Gerry's Variety Store on Lincoln Street, died last week. He was 79 years old.

Goupil purchased the store in 1966 and operated it until his death, according to his obituary.

Goupil was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was raised in Dover and graduated Dover High School in 1950.

Goupil died on May 1. Donations in his name can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Exeter/Exeter Junior Baseball League, PO Box 471 , Exeter, NH 03833.

He was buried at the Exeter Cemetery.
