Exeter Man Arrested on I-95 for DWI After Alleged Domestic Assault Incident

NHSP arrested Eric Taylor in Greenland after allegations that he was in possession of a gun and fled a domestic criminal threat episode.

GREENLAND, NH — A local man was arrested this morning after an alleged domestic threat incident in Exeter that turned into the hunt – and capture – of the suspect by New Hampshire State Police, according to state police. Eric Taylor, 31, of Exeter, was arrested on Dec. 2, 2016, and charged with driving while intoxicated, felony criminal threatening with a weapon, falsifying physical evidence, and simple assault.

State police were alerted to a 12-hour stop and arrest BOLO (be on the lookout) report from the Exeter Police after the suspect – Taylor – allegedly fled town after a domestic incident. Taylor was driving a gray Toyota Camry and reportedly had possession of a 9 mm handgun, according to state police.

A short time later, a trooper on I-95 located the vehicle traveling north in Greenland and a “high risk” motor vehicle stop was conducted by several troopers, according to Lt. Christopher Vetter of the NHSP.

“Taylor was taken into custody without incident,” Vetter noted. “Evidence linking Taylor to the crimes in Exeter was located on Taylor’s person, and Taylor was also charged with DWI. The Exeter Police and the State Police are continuing the investigation and additional charges are possible.”

Taylor was released on $1,000 cash bail and is due in court on Dec. 12.
