Exeter Man Found Guilty Of Possessing Child Pornography

William Pothier, a former FAA employee, was convicted today of having videos and pictures on a laptop after being sharing them online.

CONCORD, NH β€” A New Hampshire man has been convicted of child pornography in U.S. District Court, according to a press alert. William Pothier, 58, of Exeter, was found guilty by a jury on Feb. 13, 2018. He’ll be sentenced in May.

Back in January 2016, the Exeter Police Department received information that an IP address at a home in town was making images of child pornography available through peer-to-peer file sharing software. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force – which features members of the Exeter Police Department, the Hampton Police Department, the Portsmouth Police Department, and the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office – investigated the matter which led to the acquisition and execution of a search warrant at the residence on March 30, 2016.

β€œA forensic examination of a laptop seized during the search discovered videos and thumbnail images of child pornography,” according to acting-U.S. Attorney John J. Farley. β€œOther evidence associated the laptop with William Pothier, a Federal Aviation Administration employee.”
