A local man was indicted this month for assaulting and stalking a woman in Exeter.
Fred Travis Drew, 31, of Exeter was indicted by a Rockingham Superior Court grand jury in July on three counts of simple assault, one count of criminal restraint, one count of stalking and one count of tampering with a witness.
According to the indictment, the assault and criminal restraint charges stem from an incident in Exeter on March 9 when he allegedly grabbed a woman and pushed her, causing her to strike her head on a table and a flower pot. He then allegedly exposed her to "a risk of serious bodily injury," by refusing to let her leave to obtain medical treatment.
The stalking and witness tampering charges stem from a separate incident on April 1 where Drew allegedly contacted the woman by letter in violation of a court order and told her she could "make this go away" by saying she was "never there that night and nothing happened," or words to that effect.
Drew was originally arrested by Exeter Police on March 9. He is currently residing at the Rockingham County House of Corrections in Brentwood, according to the indictments.
