Exeter Man Injured in Newfields Crash

New Hampshire State Police are investigating a crash on Route 85 where a man struck a utility pole.

New Hampshire State Police are investigating a crash yesterday evening in Newfields that injured an Exeter man, according to a report.

At around 6:30 p.m. on June 5, 2015, state troopers were sent to Route 85 near the Exeter line for a motor vehicle crash. Newfields Police arrived at the scene and determined the injuries to the driver to be life-threatening, requested EMTs, and the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit.

“It was determined that a 2006 Subaru Baja operated by (an) Exeter (man) was traveling southbound on Route 85,” according to Sgt. Steven Wheeler. “As the vehicle approached the Exeter town line it failed to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway. The vehicle slid off the roadway sideways and struck a utility pole at the driver’s door.”

The man was medflighted to Beth Israel Deaconess with “serious injuries.”

Agencies assisting members of NH State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit at the scene included members of the Newfields Police Department, the Newfields Fire and Rescue Department, NH Department of Transportation, and Eversource Energy Company.
