The Exeter Board of Selectmen Monday night will address the fallout from Stop & Shop's announcement that it's closing all six of its New Hampshire locations, including one in Exeter.
The closure of the Exeter store will leave the town without a major supermarket chain.
Selectmen will discuss the issue during their regular meeting Monday at 7 p.m. The Economic Development Commission will also discuss the closure at its next meeting Tuesday.
A Starbucks inside the Exeter Stop & Shop will also close down when the supermarket shuts down on or before Sept. 21.
The closing has created uncertainty for workers and shoppers.
When the Stop & Shop closes, On the Vine Marketplace will be the largest grocery store in town. There's also a Market Basket and a Shaw's nearby in Stratham.
Stop & Shop has been running a 50 percent off liquidation sale.
