Exeter officials recently sent a letter of support for town resident and ParalympianΒ Victoria Arlen, who was excluded from a world swimming competition this month.
Arlen was ruled ineligible for theΒ World Swimming ChampionshipsΒ in Montreal, Canada after a doctor ruled she wasn't disabled enough.
Arlen is in a wheelchairΒ after suffering from the spinal cord diseaseΒ transverseΒ myelitis.

She said she was "heartbroken" over the issue.
The Exeter Board of Selectmen wrote a letter to theΒ International Paralympic Committee, calling her exclusion an "injustice."

U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, and Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, alsoΒ sent lettersΒ to theΒ IPC asking it to reverse the decision.
