Exeter Pinwheels for Prevention Garden April 18
NH Children's Trust, The General Federation of Women's Clubs NH join to support National Child Abuse Prevention month.

On April 18, for the second year, NH Children’s Trust and The General Federation of Women’s Clubs NH (GFWCNH) host a Pinwheel Garden at Swasey Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to support April as National Child Abuse Prevention month, according to a press statement.
Last year, visitors strolled through the garden, enjoyed the pinwheels along the river and received information about child abuse in NH and ways NH Children’s Trust is supporting families.
“The Pinwheels for Prevention Garden is an opportunity, in a beautiful way, to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect and how to prevent it. All children should be in a safe and loving environment,” said Denise Raisanen of the GFWCNH.

According to Prevent Child Abuse America, the pinwheel “…reminds us of childlike notions and stands for the chance at the healthy, happy and full lives all children deserve.” Therefore, as the state chapter of PCAA, NH Children’s Trust use the pinwheel as a symbol of child abuse prevention during National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The GFWCNH hopes community members will come out and take a stand against child abuse with them by donating a few dollars and “picking” a pinwheel from their garden.
