Exeter Police Are Investigating A Bank Robbery

Breaking: The People's United Bank on Center Street was hit today. Police are looking for tips about the man in this surveillance shot.

EXETER, NH — The Exeter Police Department is investigating a bank robbery from earlier today, according to an alert. The People’s United Bank on Center Street was robbed at just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 19, 2018. A white male subject entered the bank, approached a teller, and passed a note alleging that he had a weapon, a post on Facebook alleged.

No weapon, however, was shown and no one was injured.

“The man then fled on foot and entered a black newer model sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry, with NH plates,” according to the alert.

The man is 35 to 45 years-old, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and had tattoos on his neck and hands. He was wearing a navy blue Carhartt hooded sweatshirt with Carhartt written down the left arm in white letters and wore an olive green colored baseball hat with a white logo.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person in the photo. Call 603-772-1212 and ask to speak with Det. Sgt. Steven Bolduc or leave a tip anonymously.

Investigators believe that the suspect also robbed a bank in Stratham on Jan. 14.
