Exeter Police Officer Honored

Officer Peter Sankowich was named "employee of the quarter."

Officer Peter Sankowich was recently named "employee of the quarter" in the police department.

Sankowich, who started working in Exeter last year, was awarded for his "daily contributions on patrol in the town of Exeter as well as his stellar representation of the department during his recent training at the Police Academy."

Sankowich, 31, is a veteran of the Iraq War. He served as an Army airborne infantryman in various locations in the Anbar Province and at Forward Operating Base Iskan. He also served as a drill instructor in the Army Reserve.

He graduated from the New Hampshire Police Academy in December and earned several awards, including one named after fallen Epsom police Officer Jeremy "Crash" Charron. The award recognizes candidates who best use their miltary experience for the betterment of their class.
