Exeter Police Seeking Pharmacy Robbery Suspect

Chief Richard Kane reports that the Exeter Police Department is investigating the robbery of a local pharmacy and asking members of the public to review a surveillance photo and contact the police department with any information.

On Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at 6:50 p.m., a man walked into the Walgreens Pharmacy on Portsmouth Avenue, approached the pharmacist, and handed him a note demanding Oxycontin and Oxycodone, according to police. The pharmacist turned over a bottle containing an unknown quantity of pills, and the suspect left the store.

No weapons were shown or threats were made, but the subject should still be considered dangerous.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6-feet to 6-foot-2, 30-35 years old, with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a dark gray knit hat, light gray sweatshirt, lightly-colored jeans, and gray sneakers. He was also wearing sunglasses.

A Portsmouth Police K-9 attempted to track the suspect’s departure but was unsuccessful.

“People who are seeking opioids often commit desperate acts to get what they are seeking,” Kane said. “We are actively investigating this robbery and asking for the public’s assistance. Hopefully, someone will recognize this suspect and do the right thing.”
