
Exeter native Chris Carpenter won Game 7 of the World Series tonight as his St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Texas Rangers, 6-2.
Carpenter, 36, earned his second victory of the series. He pitched three times, earning a victory in Game 1 and a no-decision in Game 5.
This is Carpenter's second World Series title. He won his first World Series in 2006 with the Cardinals.
