Exeter School District Budget Set at $15.7M
The budget represents a 2.4 increase over the previous year's.
The Exeter School District's budget this year has been set at $15.7 million, a 2.4 percent increase over the previous year's.
No changes were made to the budget during a deliberative session Tuesday at the Lincoln Street School.. About a half-dozen voters showed up. No one objected to the budget.
Deliberative sessions allow voters to amend town and school budget amounts if they want based on majority voters.

The $15.7 million budget will now be subject to an up-or-down vote in the March 12 election. If the budget is voted down, the default budget—which is about $20,000 higher than the current proposed budget—would kick in.
Several additional spending measures in the form of warrant articles are also set to be voted on in the March 12 election. They include:

- $86,619 for increases to salaries and benefits for the Exeter Paraprofessionals Association—a union for aides and assistants—for 2013-2014. The union's contract also calls for increases of $74,959 and $72,679, respectively, in the two years following.
- $373,673 for Exeter taxpayer's share of a bond payment for the Cooperative Middle School building.
