Exeter Swim and Racquet Club to Open Next Year
The club will provide a tight-knit community environment for families, couples, individuals to enjoy year-round recreational activities.

Exeter Swim and Racquet Club is designed as a boutique private club combining swim, tennis, and social amenities in a casual atmosphere. The club will provide a tight-knit community environment for families, couples, and individuals to enjoy year-round recreational activities, casual dining, and more. Exeter Swim and Racquet Club will sit on a 21-acre wooded property adjacent to the Little River Conservation Area in Exeter.
The mission of Exeter SRC is to foster strong ties and lifelong friendships within a relaxed, yet upscale setting appropriate for members of all ages. Complemented by a fitness center, locker rooms, and a welcoming clubhouse, the club will fulfill the needs of many families searching for a private feel without the expense of traditional country clubs.
“Exeter Swim and Racquet Club is a wonderful and welcome addition to the Exeter area and will certainly contribute to the vibrancy of our community,” said Darren Winham, Economic Development Director for the Town of Exeter.

Exeter SRC will offer a 6-8 lane, 25 yard heated swimming pool with an additional children’s pool/splash pad area available for family recreation, lap swim, and lessons. During the cold weather months, a bubble structure will be placed over the pool area making it accessible for year-round use. The club will also feature three hard-surface tennis courts with designated space for future platform tennis and 2 additional tennis courts. Surrounding these highlights will be inviting/comfortable outdoor seating areas with plenty of green space for games and events, as well as maintained wooded trails for running, snowshoeing, and exploring.
Club founders, Laurie Smith andKatie Morgan stated, “As a mothers, We are working to create an atmosphere at Exeter SRC where kids, teens, and adults want to go to spend time with friends and family. As health professionals, we feel having a place that is fun and safe for families to be active together, whether swimming at the pool or snowshoeing on the winter trail, is important for building a healthy community.”

The interior of the club will boast a well-designed 1,400 square foot fitness room with adjacent locker rooms and showers. A supervised children’s room will also be available to provide members an opportunity to workout or enjoy a relaxed meal. Adding to the social atmosphere will be the Exeter SRC bar & grill which provide casual indoor/outdoor dining as well as to-go ordering for poolside enjoyment and convenience.
Michael Schidlovsky, the rresident of the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce, said, “The Exeter Swim and Racquet Club will be a great addition to the health, wellness and recreation options that area residents will have. The investment by the founding developers and, the ongoing jobs and economic activity generated around the Club will be a welcome addition to the Exeter business community, especially in Exeter’s Epping Road corridor that the Town of Exeter has targeted for development.”
Members will have the option to sign up for a variety of programs including swim/tennis lessons, tennis leagues, and personal and small group fitness training. Program offerings will grow in line with the Exeter SRC member desires. In addition, the club aims to promote a welcoming community environment for members. Exeter SRC plans to offer many different member events including holiday parties, movies by the pool, date nights, moms’ morning out, bocce/croquet/badminton/corn hole tournaments, and various other workshops and social gatherings.
“I am excited to see Exeter SRC make the progress it has this past year and optimistic that the community is ready to join us as we make the club a reality,” said Smith.
Exeter Swim & Racquet Club is in the process of raising capital for the project. The club is offering pre-opening Founding Memberships, Charter Memberships, and private investment at this time.
