Exeter Theater Co. Honors Exeter Businesses

The Exeter Theater Company – the group trying to revive the – is honoring local businesses that helped its recent membership drive.

The company is putting the names of businesses up on the Ioka marquee. Last week it featured the ; this week, it featured , , and .

The businesses helped the company surpass its goal of 1,000 members by offering things like gift cards to people who agreed to become a member.

Local philanthropist Alan Lewis won a for the Ioka and he's currently working with the theater company to reopen it as a community theater.

The theater company is currently working on a business plan before renovation work on the Ioka can begin. The theater needs new fire sprinklers, among other things.
