Exeter Train Stopped Due to Propane Smell: Report

Alerts are saying that multiple Rockingham towns are reporting a "strong odor of liquid propane" along the railroad tracks.

Multiple communities along the Amtrak line are reporting “a strong odor of liquid propane” along the tracks, according to emergency alerts online.

According to the last alert, issued at around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2015, the train has stopped in the area of Powder Mill Road near the Kensington line.

The train, according to alerts, has three propane tank freight cars at the end of its line.

Exeter Fire and Rescue teams are in the area investigating the situation with the train crew. There are no hazards to report at post time.
