Exeter Woman Honored At White House

Suzanne Dubus started an anti-domestic violence program.

Exeter resident Suzanne Dubus and domestic violence survivor was honored at the White House this week for starting an anti-domestic violence program, according to the Boston Globe.

Dubus is the executive director of Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center in Newburyport, Mass. Her anti-domestic violence program there that works to improve communication between authorities handling "the most dangerous" cases, according to the Globe. Her model has been used by other agencies across the country.

Dubus was honored as a "Champion of Change" at a ceremony at the White House. October is "Domestic Violence Awareness Month."
