FALL COURSES BEGINNING AT EXETER ADULT EDUCATION

We still have openings for the following courses starting soon:

Chair Caning and Rush Seating – Carolyn Brooks

Restore a chair by learning how to weave a cane or rush seat.  Chairs should have wood refinished.  Bring to first class a chair, pail, scissors, hammer and pencil.  Materials provided. Maximum 8 students. Class will meet on Tuesday, October 8, Thursday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 15, $55,  6:30-8:30 pm

Fly Tying - Mark Foley

This course offers instruction on how to tie flies that will catch fish in salt and fresh water.  Review fly tying equipment and materials options. Equipment and materials provided.

Mondays, 7 weeks, beginning October 21, $100, 6:30-8:30 pm

 

Painting with Pastels - Lisa Mitchell

This class will introduce the student to working with soft pastels, or developing skills in an experienced artist.  Explore a different subject matter each week. List of required materials will be provided. Call office for details.

Rug Braiding - Carolyn Brooks

For beginners or those with some experience, learn techniques in planning and starting a rug, lacing, butting & choosing wool. Small rug or chair seat can be finished. Bring scissors, thread, pins, thimble & needle.

Tuesdays, 3 weeks, beginning October 22, $50,  6:30-8:30 pm

 

Sculpting Animals & Figures - Angela Ottati

Using Polymer clay learn to create one of a kind sculptures.  Different

 techniques will be covered as well as proportions, armatures, tools,

 texturing and painting. Material provided to make a small project.

 This Halloween use empty wine bottles to decorate your home.   Please      

 bring empty green bottle to class to paint.

A look at the beginnings of a National Holiday and ways to celebrate in the manner of the 19th Century. Monday, November 14, $15, 6:30-8:30 pm

 

Watercolor or Acrylics Workshops – Marina Forbes

This introductory 3-hour watercolor/acrylic class is a hands-on step-by-step workshop designed for adult learners who are either beginners or who have some experience with watercolor or acrylic painting. Advanced watercolorists are also welcome. [Students must bring watercolor materials and tools to class. List of required materials will be provided. Call the office or go online for details.

Pre-registration is required for all classes. Complete registration information and other course selections are in the brochure which can be found at area business, your local library, online at adulted.sau16.org or by calling the Adult Education office at 775-8457. Refunds will not be given unless a course is cancelled
