Here are five great events in Exeter and the surrounding area this weekend:

1. Happy Birthday, No 1! Celebrate the first U.S. president's 280th birthday tomorrow at the American Independence Museum. Tickets start at $5. You can make your own Purple Heart – which has Washington's face on it – and hear from Washington himself. Children and adults alike are welcome. More info can be found here.

2. You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown! Looking for something fun to do with the family this weekend? See Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the gang in the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown!"at the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham, located at 100 Academic Way. Shows are tonight at 7 p.m. and tomorrow at 1 p.m. Tickets are $2. For more information, call 603-775-8700.

3. Volunteer to help find a missing Exeter dog. Montana has been missing since August. Her owner got some encouraging news when there was a possible sighting Sunday in Stratham. On Sunday a volunteer group is putting up flyers in the area. Click here for more information.

4. February Festival of Color! This art benefit event opens tonight at 5 p.m at Exeter Town Hall. Appetizers and wine will be served. Proceeeds will benefit Womenade of the Greater Squamscott, a grassroots organization in which 100 percent of funds raised go to neighbors in need.

5. Cheer on the Runners. The fifth-annual Half at the Hamptons road race, sponsored by Smuttynose Brewing Co., kicks off Sunday at 10 a.m. The half-marathon starts at the corner of Asworth Avenue and Island Path, wraps through residential areas in Hampton, and ends on Ocean Boulevard near the B Street sail sign.
