EXETER__A few tickets remain for the Exeter LitFest’s fall fundraiser, Spooky Folsom, which will take place this Saturday at the historic Folsom Tavern on Water Street.

On Saturday, October 14, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the public can explore the Folsom Tavern which will have spooky seasonal surprises in every room. The nonprofit Exeter LitFest is hosting the evening as a fundraiser for their annual literary festival in April. Proceeds will help offset the costs associated with the festival to ensure it remains free and open to all.

The Folsom Tavern, which is listed on the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places, was built in 1775 by Colonel Samuel Folsom. The tavern was built when Exeter was the Revolutionary War capital of the state and George Washington even made a stop there in 1789.
