Fresh Chicken Now Available at Vernon Family Farm

NEWFIELDS__Vernon Family Farm now has fresh chicken available for purchase at their farm, with both pre-order for curbside pickup and in person purchasing available.

The farm specializes in non-GMO pasture-raised chicken. The fresh chickens are air-chilled, which results in longer shelf life, better flavor, and a more environmentally friendly process than chlorinated water baths.

They will have all types of chicken available including whole chicken, boneless breast, bone in breast, boneless thighs, wings, drumsticks, leg quarters, bones, feet, organ meat, and chicken skin. Pricing of fresh chicken varies per cut and prices are listed online. Fresh chicken will be available while it lasts.

The farm’s Cornish cross chicks arrive on a routine basis from a Pennsylvania hatchery during the pastured poultry season, which runs from April through October. The chicks are housed in a brooding house for 4 weeks before moving outdoors to graze on fresh green grass.

Vernon Family Farm works with Common Wealth Poultry in Gardner, ME, which is both USDA-inspected and Halal certified.
