Gannon Wins State Senate Republican Nomination
More than 4,400 votes cast in District 23 Republican primary on Sept. 13.

EXETER, NH — Bill Gannon won a four-way state Senate Republican primary, one of a handful of competitive in the Granite State this year, according to unofficial results. With results of eight of nine precincts, Gannon had 1,680 votes compared with Bob Goodman coming in at 1,176. Maureen Barrows received 799 votes while Nancy Steenson received 700 votes.
Gannon won every community in the state but Exeter which was won by Goodman – 418 to 306 for Barrows. Barrows also came in second Brentwood. Steenson came in second in Danville.
Gannon will face Alex Simpson in the general election.

In the gubernatorial race, Chris Sununu easily won in Exeter with 501 votes. Frank Endelblut came in second with 238 votes. Ted Gatsas came in third with 177 votes and Jeanie Forrester came in fourth with 162 votes. Jonathan Lavoie received 18 votes.
On the Democratic side, Colin Van Ostern won Exeter with 593 votes. Steve Marchand received 314 votes and Mark Connolly received 249 votes. Ian Freeman earned seven votes and Derek Dextraze received three votes.
