Exeter's Bauer Continues to Grow

Gov. Lynch visited the hockey equipment maker today.

Bauer, the world's largest hockey equipment maker, is continuing to expand its workforce at its global headquarters in Exeter.

The company currently has about 140 employees in Exeter. It has added about 25 since it moved to its location at 100 Domain Drive a year ago. The facility, located around the Exeter-Stratham line, is in the Stratham Industrial Park off Route 101.

Gov. John Lynch visited Bauer this morning to speak with company officials about how the state can continue to support its workforce.

"I want to make sure we continue to cultivate ... the workers who have the skills and talents necessary to a growing company like Bauer," said Lynch, who earlier in the morning delivered his final in Portsmouth.

Bauer President/CEO Kevin Davis said the company has thrived in Exeter.

"We continue to hire people and getting qualified people has not been a challenge," he said.

Many National Hockey League players wear Bauer equipment, from helmets to pads to skates. The company was founded by the Bauer famly in Canada in 1927.

Bauer went public last year, when it moved its headquarters from Greenland to Exeter. Bauer is currently trading at $7.53.

In January, the company unveiled a new hocket helmet designed to reduce the risk of concussions.
