Great Bay Charter School Students Pursue Happiness
Midterm Projects Investigate "The Pursuit of Happiness" Theme
EXETER__Students at Great Bay Charter School reflected on “The Pursuit of Happiness” during the school’s annual midterm Exhibition project this month.
As part of Exhibition, an alternative to traditional midterm exams, students’ completed projects in each course to demonstrate their knowledge of material learned to date. For the Pursuit of Happiness, students were tasked with learning about themselves and the things that make them happy, give them courage, make them grateful, or practice compassion, while also connecting to how those things impact their daily lives. The project augmented the Choose Love formula the school uses in its advisories, which states: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion = Choosing Love.
Students were required to be present during Exhibition to explain their projects to the public, where teachers observed and graded their presentation skills.
