Strong Winds Knock Out Power on the Seacoast
A wind advisory was in effect until 8 p.m.

Strong winds tore down power lines in Portsmouth and knocked out power to surrounding communities on the Seacoast Friday.
Lines came down on Shaw Road next to the Sagamore Bridge, though no power outages were reported. In Hampton and North Hampton, a few dozen customers lost power. No outages were reported in Exeter.
As of about 2:20 p.m., Unitil reported about 1,000 customers were without power across the state. Unitil, which serves Exeter, has a live outage map.
Winds in the afternoon were averaging 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. The strong winds will continue until about 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
