Huge Movie Theater to Open Nearby

It will feature special motion seats.

A huge movie theater in Epping – featuring five 3D theaters and special motion seats – is scheduled to open this fall.

It's being built by O'neil Cinemas, which currently operates theaters in Londonderry and Lisbon, Connecticut.

The company's plan for its Epping location was approved by the town's Planning Board last month. It will satisfy residents who for years have called for a movie theater in town. There was even a "Bring a Movie Theater to Epping New Hampshire" Facebook page.

The theater will be located at the Brickyard Square commercial block where Routes 101 and 125 meet. A Marshalls at Brickyard Square, and there are plans for a Pet Smart, Famous Footwear, and Dress Barn to go in, too.

It takes about eight miles to drive to the theater from the center of Exeter. That's about half the distance it takes to drive to the similarly sized Regal Cinemas in Newington.

The theater will feature 10 screens with stadium seating. Five will be equipped to screen films in 3D, and some will have special seats that jiggle the audience in synch with the action of the movie. A YouTube video about the seats can be found above under "VIDEOS."

O'neil Cinemas also plans to open theaters in Massachusetts, New York, and Florida.
