Introducing Kimberley Karchenes, new Music Director at The Congregational Church in Exeter, UCC

The Congregational/UCC church in Exeter welcomed Kimberley Karchenes to their ministry team on July 15.

Kimberley has received her Bachelor of Music degree in Performance from the University of  Lowell, and comes to us with 24 years of experience as an organist, and pianist.  Kim has also been a performing artist with chamber orchestras, summer theater musicals, works as an accompanist for Seaglass Performing Arts, Seacoast Community Chorus, and Women Singing Out. In addition, she has taught piano for 22 years to children and adults in a wide age range, and planned their recitals.

Kimberley lives with her husband Dana in Cape Neddick, Maine. She recently served as the Associate Director of Music Ministry at First Parish Church in York Maine. While there she developed a hand bell and chime choir, a high school choir, and conducted & rehearsed the children's choir and senior choir.  She has led congregational hymns in worship services, led the choir for anthems and worked with the pastor to prepare repertoire and schedule music for the church year. Kimberley has also played the organ and piano for weddings and funeral services.

It is her desire to lead the Exeter church through an evolving journey of growth, strengthening its music ministry while continuing to grow in her faith.  Please stop by and see her at the piano any Sunday this summer during the Summer Worship.

9:30 a.m. Summer Worship is very casual and cozy, and held on the main floor of the church, while the upstairs sanctuary is undergoing renovations.
