"What We’re Fighting for Now is Each Other" tells the stories of what Stephenson calls the “new American radicals,” the courageous people who are spearheading the climate justice movement, according to the organization, We the People, which has organized the talk. He argues that the effort is less like environmentalism as we know it and more like the great human-rights and social-justice struggles of the 19th and 20th centuries, from abolitionism to civil rights. Stephenson has himself walked away from his career in mainstream media to join this transformative movement.
Stephenson’s talk is presented by We the People, a free lecture and film series exploring issues at the intersection of current events, ethics and religion.
