This semester health and wellness classes, beginning soon at Exeter Adult Education include:

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION FIRST AID – Mike Hall
This course is designed for individuals with limited or no medical training. Students will be trained on basics of first aid, medical emergencies,(including choking, breathing problems, shock) injuries (bleeding, broken bones and burns) as well as environmental emergencies. Students will receive a HeartSaver First Aid Course Completion Card within 10 days of course completion. Monday, March 7 or March 28, $50, 6:00-9:00 pm
HEARTSAVER ADULT CPR/AED – Mike Hall
This 3-hour interactive course covers adult/child CPR, how to use an AED, how to help choking victims, and how/when to phone 911. You will receive a American Heart Association CPR Adult Certification. Card issued within 10 days of course completion. Monday, February 29 or March 21, $50, 6:00-9:00 pm
HORSES, A BEGINNER GUIDE TO CARE & ENJOYMENT - Ann Miles
This class will cover the basics of riding and caring for horses and ponies in a professional facility with supportive and experienced instructors and specially trained horses. Attendees must wear closed toe shoes with a heel (i.e. work boots), and long pants (jeans are ok). Helmets are required for all participants (available on site). Please dress in layers, apply sunscreen and insect repellent before coming to class, and bring a beverage. Class meets in Kensington at Trundle Bed Farm. Thursdays, 4 weeks, beginning March 10, $135,

INTRODUCTION FALUN GONG – Marcus Gale
Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese practice of “self-cultivation”- a way to improve mental and physical wellness through five easy-to-learn exercises, meditation, and the elevation of one’s mind. This introductory demo class will provide a brief overview of the system, plus a demonstration of the exercises. Falun gong instruction is free but EAE requires a small registration and processing fee. Monday, April 18, $10, 6:30-8:30 pm
TAI CHI – Taoist Tai Chi Society
This course is an introduction to the gentle art of Tai Chi – a series of slow connected movements that improve balance, strength, flexibility, digestion, concentration and more. Suitable or all ages and types whether athletic, sedentary or in between. Students may stay beyond this class offering to learn the entire set. Class is held in the Taoist Tai Chi Studio, adjacent to our office. Tuesdays, 6 weeks, beginning March 1, $40, 6:30-7:30 pm.

WELLNESS YOGA – Jeanne Goddard, Pathways Yoga Teacher
Gain more energy by learning simple, easy techniques to balance breathing while gaining control over your body and maintaining complete range of movement. Stress relief and meditation practices included. Bring a yoga mat or beach size towel.
Thursdays, 10 weeks, beginning February 11, $95, 6:30-8:00 pm
