Kids Can Cook!

Can Your Kids Cook? Are you teaching your kids how to make their favorite meal, or how to follow a recipe?

It's easy to keep kids out of the kitchen when you're rushing to make a meal, but the more involved kids are in preparing meals, the more confident they'll be choosing fresh ingredients when they're looking for something to eat.

I've heard too many parents say that they wish they had gotten their kids involved in the cooking process earlier. Kids are busy with sports, homework and other after school activities so parents think they don't have time. But schedules don't get any lighter and if parents don't teach their kids to cook, then who will?

Kids are used to "easy access" foods that come conveniently packed and are quick to eat so they don't feel the need to get in the kitchen and chop vegetables, toss a salad or even make a grilled cheese.

Tracey Miller, co-found of Dig In: Real Food Solutions will be offering a series of three cooking classes this summer to get kids in the kitchen to have some fun and learn some basics that will serve them for life.
