Local Destination ImagiNation Team on to Global Finals

The Cooperative Middle School in Stratham is moving on to the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals next month.

The local team was among 39 teams moving on after Saturday's state finals at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton. These teams, now dubbed “Team New Hampshire”, range in elementary, middle and high school levels and will compete at “Globals” in Tennessee with 1,200 teams from virtually every state and Canadian province, as well as over 13 other countries.

The Cooperative Middle School team also won two Renaissance Awards for Outstanding Design, Engineering, Execution or Performance on Saturday. The judges said the team created "a masterpiece of tension and excitement" in the Coming Attractions challenge, and "dazzled" with its "complex mechanized solution" in the Assembly Required Challenge.
