Man Arrested on Arson, Cruelty to Animals Charges

State investigators: Gregory Bruno of Raymond set fires and attempted to set fires in a number of Rockingham County communities.

A local man was arrested recently and held on cash bail after allegedly being connected to numerous fires and arson attempts around Rockingham County, according to the state fire marshal’s office.

Gregory Bruno, 28, of Raymond, was arrested recently and charged with three felony counts of arson, burglary, and cruelty to animals. He was also charged with nine misdemeanor counts of arson, attempted arson, and attempted false alarm.

According to a report, during the last few months, a number of investigators have been working on an arson case after incidents in Epping, Raymond, and surrounding communities. A task force was created and while information about the specific incidents was limited at post time, state, county, and federal officials were called into the investigation to assist. During the course of the investigation, Bruno emerged as a suspect in the case.

“Additional felony and misdemeanor charges are likely,” according to Matthew Wilmot, an investigator with the state fire marshal’s office.

Bruno was held on cash bail and arraigned today in Candia District Court.
