Mirsky: Election 2024 Summary: Thanks to All, and It's Finally Over!
Exeter Attorney David Mirsky's summary view on Election 2024, as seen from the Revolutionary Capital of Exeter, New Hampshire.

Good afternoon, everyone! Attorney David Mirsky here, reporting for duty, on this fine sunny afternoon, Friday, November 8, 2024, after all the actual voting in Election 2024 has been completed. I'm not a candidate or anything, and I love New Hampshire and all my friends and neighbors here, so I'm not here to do anything but give you a closing word or two about the electoral goings-on in New Hampshire for this 2024 Presidential Election cycle. I'm not saying anything here that is calculated or knowingly untrue, so you can read this without too much caution, although as Americans we must all always be skeptical about any expression of communication in the general news dimension. So, be skeptical, but don't overdo it!
A few things to say to you at the outset:
First, I participated in political activity in New Hampshire this year, but I'm not doing that now. All previous viewpoints of mine are now on hold. I'm advising you all to do the same.

Second, Congratulations to our newly-elected Governor of New Hampshire, former NH Attorney General and former US Senator for New Hampshire, Attorney Kelly Ayotte of Nashua. I can tell you a few things about what we should expect from Governor Kelly Ayotte, because I have known her for a long time. Back in the 1990s I participated in a 60-day federal criminal trial in which she was representing another party in the case, and I have observed her amazing political career from the vantage point of actually having seen how well she does a job whenever she is given the chance.
So I can tell you this, Kelly Ayotte will be a great governor. She is extremely hardworking, talented, and dedicated to the people she is called upon to serve. So put aside the politics for at least one year, and give Governor Ayotte a chance to do her job.

Next, the Presidential race. So Donald Trump won the election. Yes. I believe that is something about which there is now no lingering doubt. So, march on everybody. It's America, it's a Democracy. If you are happy about this result, just take that in stride, and see what really happens. If you are upset, even traumatized maybe, by this result, get over it! Political activists of all persuasions can all start thinking about what to do next. You can do that now if you want, but I'm advising that you take a few days or weeks or months off first. You know, please just give it a rest!
A couple of points I'd like to throw in here that may not be on everyone's mind right now:
I just want to say, congrats to the winners, now you have the hard responsibility of actually doing something. That is really the hard part of all of this. It's not a game, even though it may seem like that sometimes. So to those who won their elections, please be responsible! Make us all proud. Make your families proud. You know, what currently paused former New England Patriots football coach Bill Belichick says all the time: DO YOUR JOB!
Next, there is one person I would like to mention who didn't win this time around, but you all will probably get another chance to vote for him for some important office, and that is Republican Russell Prescott, a prominent businessman who has served on the New Hampshire Executive Council and in the New Hampshire State Senate. Russell Prescott ran on the Republican side for the US House of Representatives seat in the First District of New Hampshire, a seat that was won by the incumbent, our current US Congressman representing Exeter, the Honorable Chris Pappas.
I just want to express my appreciation for Mr. Prescott for standing up for Israel at a dire moment during the past year. He traveled to UNH to speak to the students there, and he made peace.
I congratulate Chris Pappas wholeheartedly for retaining his seat. I believe he won because he pays attention to what his actual constituents actually want, and if there is ever anything that people in his District are not happy about, he always pays attention to that and does his best to fix it. And he is a good man too! So, that was a difficult race for the challenger Russell Prescott, but I'm sure we will be hearing from him again.
And so, this is Attorney David Mirsky, signing off for now. If you are an activist or other form of political participant out there stewing over some grievance, please give it a rest. C'mon! It's a nice day out there!
