Exeter, New Hampshire – This is Attorney David Mirsky reporting as we enter the Holiday Season here in Exeter, New Hampshire; though I usually report on political and governmental matters, today I’m reporting on something more important: The need to support our local businesses here in New Hampshire.

We all know we are living in the midst of a terrible pandemic (caused by the COVID-19 virus) that is causing harm all around us; but we also know that help is on the way, there are vaccines that will soon be made available, and we know we have a ready-made method for protecting ourselves on a daily basis by wearing the protective masks that are now available at stores all around us.

But today I’m not here to talk about the pandemic. I’m here to talk about something that we need to keep uppermost in our minds as we deal with the pandemic and all the harm it has caused, we need to keep uppermost in our minds that we are lucky to be alive and we must enjoy our lives and each other every chance that we get.

And so, specifically, today, I’m going to tell you about one place of business that many of us here in Exeter, and in our surrounding towns, have found that we desperately need in these difficult times: I’m talking about St. Anthony’s Bakery, which is located at 231 Water Street here in Exeter.

St. Anthony’s is owned and operated by primo baker Anthony Antosiewicz, who is originally from Brooklyn, New York, but has been a New Hampshire resident for quite some time now. Anthony deserves great credit for creating a bakery/restaurant/coffee shop that is just one of those perfect places to meet your friends, stay in touch with the town, and get to know everyone who lives here.

St. Anthony’s Bakery is a special place in Exeter, much like the bar “Cheers” in the long-running 1980s television show starring, among others, Ted Danson, Shelley Long, and (later) Kirstie Alley.

The service you get at St. Anthony’s is personal, always friendly, and you are always treated like one of the family. St. Anthony’s Bakery is a place where you can go and have the best coffee in the world, incredible lunches, superior baked pretzels, and all kinds of marvelous baked goods; the best Anadama bread, Normandy bread, and Seven-Grain bread in the United States, and certainly the Greatest Pies in the Entire World.

If you would like, they will slice the bread for you; so you can buy a loaf of homemade bread and take it home any time.

But it’s the pies you should take note of right now, as we are quickly approaching Christmas and St. Anthony’s pies are such an amazing and delightful treat that you just don’t want to miss your chance to get your pies. Anthony bakes these pies to perfection, and he is well known for providing the perfect pies for the holidays, particularly those required for the best feasting on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The pies available at St. Anthony’s Bakery in Exeter include following: Chocolate Cream, Coconut Cream, Banana Cream, Pumpkin, Custard, Apple, Blueberry, and especially Pecan and Chocolate Pecan.

To get your pies for Christmas Eve, you need to place your orders by December 21.

Don’t miss your chance. (But leave some Pecan Pies for us. I was actually asked by my eldest son not to mention the Pecan Pies so that there will still be enough left for us.)

If you can’t eat-in, you can take-out. Check out “St. Anthony’s Bakery” on Facebook for more details.
