Mirsky: Let RFK, Jr. into Thursday Night's CNN Presidential Debate!

If they don't invite RFK, Jr. to Thursday night's CNN "presidential debate" between current US President Joe Biden & former US President Donald Trump (see CNN June 27, 2024, at 9:00 PM ET), this observer is suggesting that we all boycott it. Here's why:

We in New Hampshire and in America cannot allow one TV network to decide who will be our next US President! That is not what Democracy is all about. Remember that, Democracy?

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., son of the great American leader and former US Attorney General, the late Robert F. Kennedy (RFK), is the most viable Independent candidate for President this year. Mr. Kennedy is the youngest, smartest, most able new face in the race. And, as you know, America always likes to see and hear something new once in a while.

Kennedy, an environmental activist, and a successful environmental law attorney, is clearly a much better lawyer than Donald Trump, who, of course, is not a lawyer at all, although Trump appears to have gained much legal experience as a defendant in his recent legal entanglements.

However, Mr. Trump is not doing so well in the legal arena. Note his many convictions, which, at present, are still on the books. The US Supreme Court, of course, may change that very soon, possibly by ruling that all US Presidents, for all time, are permitted to violate the law without ever being punished. Stay tuned. If such a ruling comes down from the High Court while Joe Biden is President, some of the bad guys on the other side had better watch out.

Joe Biden could, of course, handle Thursday night's debate with his eyes closed, as they very well may be if he is forced to listen to Trump again for an entire evening. Remember, if you watch this Kennedy-less debate on Thursday night, you too may tire of listening to Mr. Trump. Unless, of course, you believe that more of the old time dishonesty and incompetence is all America needs to improve itself at this time in our history!

But of course, we do know for sure that CNN will not give us Americans what we really want. We can't trust CNN to bring us a fair and balanced view of what is really going on out there in the voting population; or can we? (Oh, no, sorry, we shouldn't expect that from CNN; "fair and balanced is FOX News, right?).

So, sadly for our American Democracy, I guess we may all have to wait until the next debate to see and hear Mr. Kennedy, who, last time I checked, is still a real and able candidate for US President in 2024.
