Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren, an exciting, people-oriented candidate, spoke at Portsmouth High School last Friday night.

I was fortunate enough to attend Elizabeth Warren’s campaign event at Portsmouth High School on Friday, April 12. Actually, my wife Joanne Petito (pictured above) asked me to go. It was a remarkable event, because Elizabeth Warren is a remarkable person and an exciting candidate for US President in 2020.

The event was focused on questions from the audience, mostly about issues important to all of us, such as health care, care for the disabled, and getting ahead in our current economic environment, through improved access to education and equal pay for equal work.

People will do better under an Elizabeth Warrant Presidential Administration because making people’s lives better is what Elizabeth Warren is all about.

Though she is clearly a brilliant and accomplished person, having mastered the most complex areas of financial law in our country and having achieved the position of Professor at Harvard Law School, as well as being a US Senator from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren’s campaign presentation of herself is not about her, it’s about helping other people. In particular, Elizabeth Warren is concerned that women and all parents have access to affordable child care so they can work and grow and develop in their lives, and promote the quality of life in our society in general.

Elizabeth Warren is from Oklahoma, so she has a broader perspective of the needs of people in our country. She is familiar with the needs of real people all around our country.

Elizabeth Warren is extraordinarily kind-hearted. The most significant interaction that occurred at the Portsmouth High School event involved a long and detailed statement by the distressed mother of a disabled adult; the questioner was so upset by her situation that she forgot to ask Elizabeth Warren a question, and when she realized this she began to apologize but Senator Warren stopped her and just said, I know what your question is, you don’t have to say it, you need help, right?

Which about sums it up as far as Elizabeth Warren is concerned: she is attuned to the real needs of real people trying to survive and take care of their families in today’s society. An excellent candidate for President in my opinion.
