Mirsky's List: MEMORIAL DAY 2024 - Honor and Cherish Our Soldiers
Exeter Attorney David Mirsky updates his ongoing report on the 2024 Presidential Race, as seen from The Revolutionary Capital of Exeter NH.

This is Attorney David Mirsky, of Exeter, New Hampshire, reporting on the 2024 US Presidential race. Yes, the first-in-the-Nation-Primary is over, but we still care about what may happen in November.
Remember, above all, we must SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, whether stationed at home or abroad. And we must honor the sacrifices that our American heroes, and their families, have made to keep this country free.
So here is my list of the strongest remaining candidates for the US Presidency, on this Memorial Day of 2024 (in reverse order of strength, just to mix things up a bit):

3. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Attorney, Environmental Activist, Law Professor. Attorney Kennedy must be taken seriously, as he is a serious man with a serious family name and a devastatingly serious personal history. If you don't know about Mr. Kennedy's father, you should. Please read a few books. I have criticized him in the past, but now that the 2024 Presidential race has moved quite a bit forward, I'm giving him a second look. An environmental activist, you should check out some of the impressive things Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., has done for the environment in the State of New York. In Exeter, Kennedy has one of the most cleverly placed campaign signs, which is by the side of the road on the way to the Transfer Station. And a great sign it is, very clear and concise, like the man himself. The most impressive aspect of Kennedy's candidacy (to me, at least), is that he has the strongest position on the Israel-Gaza issue, which is simply that Hamas must be destroyed.
2. Donald Trump, former US President, and current Criminal Defendant in state courts in New York and Georgia, and in federal courts in Washington, DC; and in Florida. The New York case, the "Stormy Daniels" case, is about to be decided by a jury (unless a federal court can be persuaded to stop the trial with an injunction). In the Georgia case, the prosecution is pushing the limits of what can fairly be defined as a "racketeering enterprise", under Georgia's fairly unusual and unfair racketeering law (unfair to defendants). Please note, Georgia has its own idea of what passes for fairness under its racketeering law, which makes it much easier to prove that a crime has occurred than is possible under federal law. So any guilty verdict for Trump in the Georgia case could be overturned by the US Supreme Court as violating 14th Amendment Due Process, which, the last time I checked, still applies in Georgia. Donald Trump, being a very flexible and shapeshifting candidate, has seemed to relish playing the underdog in these criminal matters. But the whole thing may be wearing him out. And it's not a good look for American Democracy to have such highly political prosecutions going on in an Election Year.

1. President Joe Biden is still the strongest candidate, being the current President and all. Mr. Biden is doing well with Baby Boomers such as myself, and with every voter who is not consumed with a generalized anger against society. Biden's real problems right now are: (1) inflation, which, yes, still exists; and (2) a lack of clarity as to his foreign policy in the Middle East, which always poses difficulties for US Presidents, but, I mean, come on! It shouldn't be that hard! Most Americans, I believe, if asked, would tell you that they agree with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on this: That Hamas must be destroyed! And free those hostages!!!
But I'm confident Joe Biden will do these things. If you don't agree, you have two other choices.
So that's my report for this Memorial Day, except that I must add the following (and you can't say this too much): We must Honor and Cherish all our soldiers, past and present, especially those brave individuals (and their families) who have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives so that the rest of us can remain free.
