The Neighborhood Beer Co. Awarded Building Permit in Exeter
World-renowned beer expert, brewer and author joins top executive team to bring authentic German-style beers to the Seacoast.

The Neighborhood Beer Co. has received approval from the town of Exeter Building Department on its building permit and has started to prepare the site for the brew house, fermentation cellar, and public tap room.
As part of this build-out, Neighborhood has pulled together a top management team including co-founders Tim Diaz, Mike O’Donnell, and internationally renowned, award-winning brewer, consultant to the international brewing industry, and beer author Horst Dornbusch. The project is scheduled to complete in 2014, in preparation for the public opening of Neighborhood’s tasting room in early 2015.
“What we are creating at Neighborhood is quite ambitious,” said Horst Dornbusch, creative director of The Neighborhood Beer Company. “Authentic German-style beers are hard to make right in the United States; and when they’re done wrong, consumers will taste the mistake, because today’s sophisticated craft beer drinkers know better. However, they will be delighted by our forthcoming top-quality, balanced brews that are designed to stand the test of time.”
“Our team has decades of brewing industry and consumer goods experience. We’ve pulled together a one-of-a-kind group of talented experts with a deep love for and knowledge of world-class beers,” said Joe Berwanger, president and co-founder of The Neighborhood Beer Company. “We’re very excited to be establishing our operation in Exeter. It’s one of the nicest places in the world, and we’re going to work hard to drive interest and foot traffic here.”
