New Coffee Shop Opening Downtown

A new coffee shop is coming to downtown Exeter.

D2 Java, a coffee house with an espresso bar, will open at 155 Water St., replacing the former Copper Canoe gallery.

The coffee shop's opening date is unclear; a sign posted there said "coming soon." Attempts to reach its owner was unsuccessful Monday.

A Neil Thompson of Portsmouth recently pulled a building permit to renovate the space.

Downtown Exeter features several places to sit down and grab a cup of coffee, including , , the , , and . There's also the , which is in danger of closing and looking for donations from the community to stay open.
