New Hampshire SPCA President And CEO Dennison To Retire
Lisa Dennison will retire later this year after 31 years as president and CEO of the New Hampshire SPCA in Stratham.

STRATHAM, NH â Lisa Dennison, president and chief executive officer of the New Hampshire SPCA, will retire later this year after 31 years with the organization, officials announced Jan. 29.
During Dennisonâs tenure, the nonprofit expanded its staff from 10 to 56 employees, increased its annual operating budget from $400,000 to more than $4 million, and expanded its campus from 6 acres to 15 acres. The organization also completed two capital campaigns during that time.
Dennison led the organization through the 2008 housing crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic while overseeing construction and expansion projects, according to the New Hampshire SPCA.

âServing the New Hampshire SPCA has been the joy and privilege of my life,â Dennison said in a statement.
She cited the work of board members, staff, volunteers, and supporters and said she was confident in the organizationâs future.

The organization said Dennison also supported animal care and protection programs, humane education, internships, and community outreach initiatives serving residents across New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire SPCA Board of Directors has begun planning for a leadership transition and will conduct a national search for a successor with assistance from Noetic Search.
âLisaâs vision, dedication, and integrity have shaped the New Hampshire SPCA into the organization it is today,â Sue Smulski, chairwoman of the board of directors, said.
Dennison will remain involved during the transition period, the organization said.
Founded in 1872, the New Hampshire SPCA is a nonprofit organization based in Stratham that focuses on animal rescue, rehabilitation and adoption, as well as education and advocacy related to animal welfare.
