New Hampshire SPCA, Santa Partner Again
Any adoptions made beginning on Dec. 20 will be eligible for delivery Christmas morning.
STRATHAM, NH – The New Hampshire SPCA Adoption Staff have been once again been deemed honorary elves this year by the Big Man himself, Mr. Santa Claus, and will be delivering new pets to local families on Christmas morning, according to a press statement.
Adoptions beginning on Dec. 20. are eligible for delivery Christmas morning.
Last year, for the very first time, our Adoption Staff delivered newly adopted pets to families all over the Seacoast, just in time for Christmas morning. “The response was so heartwarming. When our van arrived with elves delivering new pets, along with an official note from Santa, we saw every response from disbelief to screams and tears of joy,” said Lisa Dennison, Executive Director of the New Hampshire SPCA in Stratham.

“The deliveries really made the holiday special for some very excited children and for our staff as well. It was rewarding for them to see the new homes that those animals would be living in, and the love that would be showered upon them.”
Beginning, Sunday, Dec. 20, through Thursday, Dec. 24, (closed on Wednesday) adopters will have the option of bringing home their new family member as usual, or having our elves deliver on Christmas morning. The shelter will also be open for Christmas morning pick-ups for those that would rather come in. The staff will deliver the animals to their home, not by sleigh, but by the NHSPCA Rescue Vehicle, within a 15 mile radius of the Stratham shelter, on Christmas morning. They will be adorned appropriately with Elf Costume, a Santa gift pack for their pet, and a scroll from St. Nick himself!

“This still is a new approach to holiday adoptions,” said Lisa Dennison. “In the past, we’ve always shied away from people giving pets as gifts. But truly, there is no better, or more memorable gift, if a family is ready for a new pet. All of our customary adoption procedures will still apply, but if a parent wants Santa to bring a new pet to their child, or a husband for a wife, etc., making their holiday dreams come true, we want to help if we can.”
This option is only available to certain animals, as we want to make sure a new pet’s homecoming is as wonderful as possible. Cats or dogs that are particularly shy or frightened would not be likely candidates to make a smooth transition this way. Space is also limited! So if you want Santa’s NHSPCA elves to deliver your new furry family member, act quickly!
There will be a fee assessed for this service.
