PREVIOUS STORY

The Meat House, a neighborhood-style butcher and grocery store that started on the Seacoast, is opening another store in Stratham in a few days, the company announced on Twitter this morning.

It's the latest expansion for the company, which opened its first store in Portsmouth in 2003. It now operates about 30 locations in 10 states and has plans to open four new stores, according to its website.

The Meat House had operated a counter inside in Exeter but closed up shop a few months ago to move to the full-service location in Stratham.

The new Stratham store is located at 28 Portsmouth Avenue at the site of an old Blockbuster store.

There will be a grand opening celebration with live music and other activities. We're still waiting for word on the exact date.

In addition to meat, the Stratham store will offer fish, cheese, prepared foods, and bakery foods, among other items. It will feature more than 100 vendors – about half of which are tied to New England.

The company currently has five New Hampshire locations and two in Maine.
